Teeth Whitening FAQs

How much does teeth whitening cost?

Here at Mouth House our 1 Hour Session is $250. We also offer a Whitening and Top Up package at $349. When purchasing in a package you save $50 off your 4-6 week top up treatment

Do I need a top up session?

Yes! Teeth whitening is not a one time fix solution for white teeth. 4-6 week top up session is required after your initial treatment for optimal whitening results. On going Top Ups can be done every 3-6 months to keep that Hollywood smile. If you never get your teeth whitened again, you will gradually start to notice the re staining of your teeth.

Is it harmful for your teeth?

Teeth Whitening is not harmful to teeth as long as you don’t over whiten. You need to let your teeth remineralise between sessions. To keep your teeth white all year round we recommend top up sessions every 3-6 months.

What causes stains on the teeth

Age, starting colour, translucency, thinness, eating habits, smoking, drugs, chemicals, grinding.

If I have a cap on my tooth, will that also whiten?

Your natural teeth will whiten however the filling material doesn’t change. The dentists can replace if you want whiter. If your natural tooth is darker than the cap then it will help blend.

What if the whitening doesn't do much?

It depends on how white your teeth are to begin with and your genetics. You can get your teeth back to how they were before staining. Darker stained teeth will require more sessions to achieve maximum shades. It is also important to us that we ensure customers have the correct expectations when it comes to their teeth whitening results. Not all of us are born with veneer white teeth, if you are wanting to achieve a shade whiter than your natural genetic colour you would have to opt for veneers.

How long does the treatment take and what is to be expected?

Whitening treatment consists of 3x 20 minute sessions. Total appointment time is between 60-90 minutes. You can expect to see between 5-14 shades. The more stained your teeth are the more dramatic your results will be.

Should Teeth Whitening be done by a dentist

Whitening is purely cosmetic and non-dental. The products we use are gentler then and just as effective as the ones used by dentists. Our products are Australian compliant and produced at the highest standards. Our gels are safe and problems are rare.
